What an ignition upgrade gives you on a turbo car?
Hi, I'm trying to figure out if an ignition upgrade is necessary to run a turbo 5 gen lude on stock h22 with about 8-10 psi and EMS and getting around 280-300 whp? Do I need this MSD ignition thing? Coil? Plug wires? Sparkplugs? Well, may be sparkplugs I need...but other ignition related stuff?
Does getting all this stuff adds hp/torque gain, fuel economy, reliability?

From what I've heard, I get the impression that OE ignitions that are running "tip top" should be adequatefor low boost.
Aftermarket ignitions are good, and can add power (more efficiency), but are mostly for peace of mind.

From what i've heard and experienced, the ignition isn't really need until you hit 400+WHP. But as discussed, make sure your current igntion is in good shape, good rotor, d-cap, wires and plugs. Any malfunction here will show up quickly in a FI car.
