Looking to buy HID

Posts: n/a
I got a 93 accord coupe.
After 5 long years my PIAA platnium white finally went out. (only one of them)
So i'm in the market to go HID now.
Phillips has been well known.
Anyone got any suggestions?
I hear people selling fake Phillips and trying to pass them off.
How do I know a real phillips when I see one?
What are my other options?
What are cheaper alternatives?
Can I get ballasts from other cars and put it in?
Do the HID from a TL fit in my car?
All suggestions welcome, need to replace lights fast.
Thanks!

1. Go with an OEM set salvaged from another car. You will be sure to have good quality, and with the best light output. (4100k-4300k)
2. I don't know.
3&4. Depends, you can always go aftermarket with some Catz or other brand name, but I don't think they'll cost less.
5. Yes. All you need is a positive and negative wire with AC 12V.
6. Yes they will.
7. My suggetstion is hurry up to get yourself a kit, because it will be illegal to sell them after august 15th.

you will know a philips bulb because it says "philips" on the base..
just make sure to stay away from all the 5000K, 6000K, or anything higher than 4300..
no the bulbs from a TL will not fit your car. you need to order a kit that is specifically fitted for your application.. i think yours is 9006..

What will need to be done to the housing though?</TD></TR></TABLE>
if you try to put the TL bulbs into a 9006 housing, you will need to do a lot of custom work to mount the bulbs, and to make sure that they're properly beam pattern corrected.
