Default reverse makes a horrible sound...

i let my cousin borrow my car for a bit and i guess he drove the life out of it... it seems okay, but when i throw it into reverse gear it makes a horrible noise like pieces of metal just broke and dropped from my tranny.. its not the usaul snapping noise, its HORRIBLE.. what could be the problem here?... and when the car is rolling reverse it makes a clanking noise until i bring it out of gear.. every wheel rotation.. and also my reverse lights dont work. need lots of help here.. thanks guys..
