i had them both put on friday with itr springs that a friend gave me to replace the stock springs for now...being that my stock shocks were blown the difference is amazing car is so sturdy now and the 712"s held up well while i was abusing them saturday to make the squeel and find there limit...one thing i have a lot of now though is understeer...i have front and rear type r strut bars ..which feel like they are worthless now with new shocks..i tried the setting at just about every level on the shocks...1-1, 1-2, 2-2, 2-3, 3-3...maybe my lack of experience with adjustables is keeping me from finding that right setting but was wondering if any one had any tips on setting the shocks for:
1..less understeer
2..not to stiff for the daily driving
i still feel body roll with this setup not as much as before but want to eliminate it a lil more ...will a nuespeed strut bar do that for me...or type r rear swaybar orstiffer springs....which i dont think i will like cause the car is pretty stiff now...thanks for any tips/advice

I've got 712's and AGX w/GC's at the standard pring rates and I usually felt like my understeer was pretty well eliminated with the front's on 2 and the rears on 4. Now that I have a type R sway in back I usually go 2/2 and it seems pretty neutral. I say go for the R rear sway and you'll be good. Also, my last 2 sets Kumhos did funny things until they had 500-1000 miles on them so that might be your prob as well.
i'll second the itr rear swaybar. before, body roll was very noticeable on 1/1 setting. I now have the swaybar and at 1/1 setting the body roll is greatly reduced. the understeer i had before it more neutral now too. I could never get it to spin out before at autox, now I can.
setting my shocks on 1-1 is just to mushy for me...right now i have them on 2-2..2-4 i think is just to harsh in the rear for daily driving...also the tires were filled to 40 psi all around buy the shop...im thinking of putting the fronts to about 35 and the rear at about 37 or 38..

They just didn't feel right. Not as predictable as you'd expect, not as grippy, more prone to front end plow, etc. They need to break in before they do their job well. Tire pressure does play a role too, play around until you find a good comfort/handling balance you like. I usually go 40psi all around. Running the back on 4 was harsh at times during daily driving but I got used to it pretty quick. I have a lot more rattles and creaks in the car now too but that's what 8k RPM is for...or a stereo.

thats exactly why i lowered the tire psi a lil to rid some of that hard feeling on bumps...front end plow is a issue but i thought it is/was the same as understeer...correct me if im wrong...

, that will get rid of the front end plow! A Type R rear sway will make great improvments so I would get that first. I personaly use 4 in the front and 4 in the rear for everyday driving. It does not seem to harsh to me so I keep it high. I say find a turn near your house and try it with all the different settings to find what you like. I mean take it to the track

ahhhhhhh, I just CANT wait to replace my blown shocks and sportlines with my konis, GCs and R rear sway. the ride in my car is beyond shitty and I know that its going to be like night and day difference ocne everything is installed.

same way i felt..couldnt wait..now its done and im like ok whats next..lol..but i had blown stock shocks also and sagging stock springs...i dont believe how stiff it is now..just neeed to elininate that body roll/twist..whatever u wanna call it...i can switch a lane on the highway by snatching it now..but i dont like the feeling when the *** end finally catches up and snatches back...
also if anyone has a pic of the front and or rear upper shock bolts( in the trunk or under the hood) i would appreciate seeing it..theres some thing i wanna check for...thanks

i think the shop might have put my front itr bar back on my car while the tires were off the ground...for some reason maybe its just me but the car feels a lil akward...maybe its just me adjusting to the new shocks and tires...
