Default Handling!!!

Ever since I got my civic I'm been getting shitty handling. I'm starting to notice crappy handling and I dont have a strut bar, tie rod or sway bar. What should I do? SHould I get one of the above? Will it improve my handling alot better? Which companies do you recommmend?

It sounds as if your handling is getting progressively worse, which would point to your shocks. How old are they?

At least get it handling as good as stock before you try band-aiding other areas to compensate.

Check your shocks..
get the car bouncing... then stop bouncing it.. and see if it stops right away.. if it doesn't you need shocks..
also check your tire pressures... they should all be around 28psi

if these are all ok..
I would sugguest some good tires and shocks.. maybe some springs...ground control with koni adjustables are popular combo

tires is a huge argument but aggreed that sticky tires are better than stock tires

Whats the cheapest but most effective products? I'm on a very low low budget.

Once again, find out if you need new shocks first. New ones from the dealer are probably $60 a piece or more. Though you can probably get mild aftermarket replacements for cheaper (Koni Reds, Tokico blues, KYB GR2's, Bilsteins).

Or you could find someone's used Civic Si or Integra shocks for cheap - they'd be better than what you've got now. A lot better, if yours are blown.

If you're on a low budget, I suggest sway bars (or just a rear one). It'll make a huge difference. Springs require shocks and all that. They'll just be more expensive.

As for your handling getting shitty, it probably is just you. If you do any proper mod to your car, you'll notice the first week what a huge difference it made. "Wow, that extra 200hp really made this car go!" or "That racing suspension really makes this thing turn!".

A week later it'll feel sluggish, slow, and it will turn like a battleship. That's when you get a bigger turbo, stickier tires, or the cheapest way is just drive almost any domestic for a week. My Galant feels like a race car compared to this Buick I once drove.
