Default Help, Check Engine light

I have recently been getting a "check engine" light. I'll be just driving and bink, the light comes on. I don't know why and it is really annoying to see that stupid orange light. It just stares at me and I think it knows how much I hate it. The car still runs fine when it is on. I don't know what the problem is. That why I need help. It doesn't flash or blink, just comes on and stays on. I mean I pull off the positive on the battery to reset, but I just read that it should be the negative. Whats the difference??

Please help, I am tired of reseting the car. My car only has 28K, its a 2001 GS-R. I have no idea what it can be. I have all the usual parts that everybody else has and I seem to be the only one with the problem. So please help.

Thanks.

go to the dealer. i think 96 and up obd2 integra had some type of recall for some emission problem.

they will do it for free.

well, they did it for my car. but that was 2 years ago.

and u get a free oil change plus a car wash.

-----------------------

its probably the purge control valve.

but u have to read the code.

Pull the code. Could be something small and easy to fix.

Thanks Skunk, I am going to try that and see what it is. I'll wait till it comes back on and give it a try. I hope its nothing major. I mean the car still runs strong when the light comes on. Any one else have any ideas?

I went and did the trick with the paperclip, It works but I keep counting 7 long flashes and 6 short. So that would be 76 right? Well when I look on the graph...there is no 76. HELP!!!!!!!!!!
