Default Oil Leak! I Think the mechanic did it!

Researched the search section...

I have a similar problem discussed in post:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=502398

I'm leaking oil from the filter area... I just got an oil change and it immediately started afterwards. Now the mechanic who did the oil change says that my "oil seal" has gone bad and that to replace it involves dealing with the "drive shafts" and is laborious in general.

This sounds suspect to me, any advise?
Seems like he misthreaded the filter to me?

perform another oil change.

buy your own filter, jack it up, lube the gasket on the filter with oil before install.

spray down block/clean it with simple green

Well it sounds like he is trying to weasel his way out of his mistake. If it is just coming from oil filter, it sounds like the oil seal on the filter is bad or he didn't tighten down the oil filter. Which means that you need to get a new oil filter or just tighten it down. You definently don't need new driveshaft oil seals. Unless the oil is coming where the driveshaft connects to the tranny.

I've heard that a double gasket on the filter can cause a leak.

Any insight on this guys?

Double gasket doesn't leak it pours. It is most likely not a double gasket.

So is there a seal that could go bad where you attach the filter (not the filter seal)?

That's what I'm thinking. Your "mechanic" sounds like a jerk off. Find another one.

From now on just change your own oil...problem solved! Like many others have said you probably just need a new filter or YOU could perform another oil change.
