Default My accord was OWNED by a curb; I would like advice

Car: 95 accord ex v-tec coupe

Story: hit a median curb(one of those nice ones that stick out) at 30

Damage: one rim totaled (need suggestions/est. on replacement)

2 airbags deployed (I do not care about replacing them but I would like the holes patched; suggestions?)

Possible axle damage

two tires busted(I can handle this one)

cracked window (airbags did it)

I have liability ins. so that is not an option.

the airbag sit. is the thing I wondered most about.

Not to rain on your parade, but you probably have suspension damage in addition to the axle damage. I'd take a closer look at the suspension on the side you hit the curb.

I was guessing it would be nasty. I want it drivable first; then I will worry about the rest. I have a shop looking at it, however, I am just letting them do bare neccessities.

For the wheel airbag, I'd bet you can just get a replacement steering wheel, or a non-airbag wheel from a junkyard. I think you have to plug the airbag electrical connector with a loopback connector or something to avoid a SRS light. Try a search, there must be something on this.

I don't know what you could do on the passenger side, sorry.

Sorry to here about your misfortune. I hit a curb at like 10-15 mph and screwed a lot of things up. Here's a short list:
1: Rear beam of the front cross member
2: Lower control arm
3: Radius rod
4: Radius rod bushings
5: Sway Bar
6: (1) 7-spoke 94-95 EX rim
7: Tires needed to be replaced anyway
and the list goes on, thats just the main things. Another thing to look at is the wheel bearing, mine wasn't damaged but I replaced it anyway since I replaced the rotors. Also be sure to check all the brake connections on the side of the car that hit the curb. Good luck.

yah, the junkyard is your best best for most of the stuff, and i'm not sure who but somebody here is selling 2 95 ex rims you could probably pick up fairly cheap.

damn, I just got done talking to this guy thats selling me two EX rims for $25 each plus shipping. Now I will have an extra if I need it for something.

As for where to buy your parts, buy them at a junkyard. It your best bet. Just make sure they have a warranty on the parts they sell you. First I got the wrong LCA then I got a bent LCA and had to return them, had no problem though. Even got an extra radius rod out of the deal. Go to http://www.Car-Parts.com to search for the parts you need at junkyards in your area.

Try getting one of those dash covers to cover the hole in the passenger side.

you can always get one of those dashes from a country with LHD and no airbags... perhaps, australian domestic market accords? At the very least, you can get a jdm steering wheel without the airbag.

You should probably pull the fuses on the SRS too, dont want that idiot light on.

see if the shop will press the slightly bent components back into place with a hydraulic press... it will save money.

anyways, yeah... i better keep an eye out for those flying curbs too... good luck!
