I've left cars on jackstands for over a year. screw the frame.

actually when you have a really old car that you want to store for winter they recommend that you put it on jack stands. so you dont **** up the tires or the suspension. so yeah id say its safe to leave it on jack stands. i had my mr2 on jack stands for a few weeks and it was fine.
edit: and dont forget to change out the radiator fluid filter. alot of people forget about it and over heat.

nah.. that's yet more misinformation being spread on honda-tech.. you've jumped on the ASGM goes bad bandwagon I see.. I did independant testing, one car sitting outside on a dyno in humidity for weeks, and another on a dyno inside with 0 humidity.. SAE corrected dyno results were identical.. but then again, it was different cars.. maybe the ASGM on the car outside was of higher quality..
or perhaps you mean this: http://www.asgm.org.au/ Old people hate humidity..
