Default Average price for piston install?? searched already...

Well I am going boost next month. I am going to build the bottom end with Eagle Rods, JE pistons (i saw a pistons and rod combo on ebay for about 700 shipped, is that a good deal?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...03937 ), a block guard, and replace all the bearings and wat not. I am aiming for 10 PSI. Is there anything im missing?

Anyways, I was just wondering how much you guys paid for the install with all the honing, balancings and everything else??

TIA

Also, does anyone know any good shops around Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area that does good work. I am going to try Pacific Performance. I heard Steve does good work.

Boost coming soon

Maxboost on this board is from the Miami area. He can help you. I believe he recommends a place called JDM Motorsports, or something similar to that. Not sure, check with him.. Good luck..

Oh man.. Sorry to hear that. I've heard such good things about them. How about Titan Motorsports? Oh, probably too far away..

How about Cybernation??? Their cars seem to be making serious power... So they must know what they're doing...

I went to the shop and like it alot, they're very proffesional.

I did my setup myself. wiseco pistons, eagle rods, eagle crank (Stroker) , port polish, bore increase. It's fun doing it yourself. by the way nice hatch.

my local place quoted me 3,000 for install of pistons, rods + honeing walls and new bearings. That price also included taking out the engine from the car and reinstalling it.

I built my own.

But for bore/hone, balance/polish crank, hot tank I paid $165 at a local shop.

Call up a engine machine shop. Boring or honing a block for a new set of pistons is simple. Any good machine shop should be able to do it no problem. Do the rest yourself, I rebuilt my first engine years ago, which was a oldsmobile 455 from a jet boat. Just have a manual handy and don't rush!
