Default Pistons/Rods Install .....Local Bay Area

Hey HT. I was just curious if anyone here has done this before and would be interested in helping me and a friend install new rods and pistons in my car. I really dont feel like dropping down 700 bones to get them installed. Just wanted to know if anyone local has done this, and if they could hook a brother up. Wouldn't be for maybe a couple weeks, at the most a month...so lemme know if you are down to help. I'll pay for your lunches and if you want I'll get you some beer or whatever - email immy@home.com

there is no way these guys are charging you 700 for piston install, unless your rods have to be heated to go on wrist pins and they have to machine/hone your cylinders to make it fit - if that is the case there is only so much you can do in your garage. what is the cylindr and piston bore? are you planing on usine new bearings?? this was probably all part of the install price from the shop. You need to select proper bearings sizes for the wear and tear on your crank.
