max fuel pressure with vortech fmu,310s, & 255lph in-tank..
As the topic states.... For instance I would like to run 10 psi of boost with this set-up.. With a 10-1 disc in the fmu, plus a static fuel pressue of around 40, this would be a total of 140 psi of fuel press... This seems a little high... Can anyone comment on this??? I would like to know the highest and safest amount of pressure that can be ran with this set-up... Thanks

I wouldn't run more then about 7-8psi max with that set-up. Idealy you don't want to run your fuel pressure higher then about 85psi, but with fmu set-ups they tend to exceed 100psi. The highest fuel pressure that you'll most likely see will be about 120psi from that pump.
The only reason i'm able to run 10psi safely (IMO) is because my fuel pressure doesn't exceed about 85psi. (4:1 and 310's)
Try using a 8:1 fmu and see how your air'fuel ratio looks, you may be able to go to a 6:1 (vortec recomended a 6:1 for my application)

Whats strange about my set-up is that I was running a 6-1 fmu for the last monyh or two and my a/f ratios were between 10.8-11.5. Lately they have been 12.0-12.5 with no changes to my set-up at all. Even the outside temps have been the same as well....So I tried a 8-1 set-up and the a/f ratios are identical... For some reason the car does not want to richen up..... How are you running 10 psi with only a 4-1 disc??? Especially if vortech reccommends a 6-1 for only 7-8 psi of boost???

No, I do not have a safc....I want one really bad though... How hard are they to street tune??? I am using a fjo wideband in my car at all times
, so I know that would help greatly...

to get full advantage of the safc you should dyno tune it or could try what alot people do...3rd gear highway runs at 3 in the morning
. As for your statement of your a/f ratio going lean, have your checked your fuel filter? maybe its clogged or to dirty. Try putting in some octane booster. They usually have fuel injector cleaner within it and see what happens.

No more then 100psi of fuel pressure can be made even from a high pressure IN TANK fuel pump. YOU NEED AN INLINE PUMP.... end of story.

My fuel filter is 2 months old and is an oem part... I think the valve in the fmu might be sticking or f----- up... I will call vortech and see what they have to say....

I've had a vortech bust on me... watch out... if you smell lots of gas...stop driving !
But the discs can rupture over time....

I was told that it's due to my gsr ecu. Suposedly it runs richer in vtec due to the dual runners (require more fuel for the air) and I guess gs-r run richer then b16's. I've dyno'd it twice since then and my air/fuel ratio is at 12.0 +/- .2

Not true i ran about 120psi of fuel pressure when i had my 12:1 and stock injectors with a holley intank high pressure pump.............
Then again maybe my fuel pressure gauge is wrong
