Custom Kits vs Brand name complete kits
I finally made up my mind and want to boost my car. is there any disadvantages towards the custom turbo? also what are the advantages towards have a name brand like greddy/turbonetics/hks. thanx.
The problems with name brand kits is that you always end up changing most of the parts included. On a custom kit, you buy the parts that better suits your needs. But if its your first kit/turbo car, i would buy a kit. It makes life much easier.
f buying a kit. like posted above. you get parts that u dont want. go custom, youll be much happier with the results.
if a kit is what you are looking for. go with maxrev or a revhard kit.

custom is so much more worth your time and is so much cheaper in the long run, not to mention makes more power hands down

I'd say the Max-Rev kit is a good in-between kit (between full custom and kit)
It includes the nessesary parts but still requires intercooler pipeing fabrication. Which is not hard at all. Plus KS has some geart pricing on it.
Going the full custom route and piecing a system together part by part is probably not the best plan for your first turbo install. But it is still do-able, you will learn alot in doing so.
Good luck
