Default Roll bar question...

I just ordered my kirk racing bar I went with the 1.75 X .120 DOM bar. I just want to see if that is thick enoguh or should I have gone with a 1.75 X .134? I want to call back and fix unless you guys think it is ok.
Thanks,
Josh

Depends on what rulebook/class you are building the car to, which usually specify a minimum dia and wall thickness.

well it is more just an all around car. I use it for a bit of everything. I am not building it to one specific thing as of right now. just to have fun I really would like to get away from auto x and into road race, but there are no tracks close. Would the 1.75 X .120 be a decent bar for this sort of application? Or should i call back for a diff one?
Thanks,
Josh

SCCA SoloII rules book says 1-1/2" od x .120" for cars that weigh more than 1500 lbs I have no idea idea what the numbers mean so I'm just a messanger.

yea they told me at kirk racing it would be legal through solo 1. the .120 or .134 is the actual thickness of the wall of the tube used to make it
RAB you have a auto power in your right? Do you know the size it is?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by skrewdlude &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I went with the 1.75 X .120 DOM bar. </TD></TR></TABLE>

That should be just fine. This I what I used for my CRX cage, and while your lude is considerabely heavier, the 1.75 x .120 is overkill for my rex. The 1.75 x .120 should also meed the SCCA requirement for the lude, but I don't have a book in front of me right now.

Personally, I wouldn't change it.

Think you're on the right track. Anymore would likely be overkill in just about any rulebook.

ah ok... I think I got you confused since you were posting in that thread that showed the pics of the auto power in the lude
the autopower uses the same size (1.75 X .120)
Josh

Thanks a lot guys!
