Default milling head or high compresison pistons?

have a question. Im currently building a honda DOHC ZC turbo motor.
(75.5mm bore with a 90mm stroke, ~1.6 litres) Im having a problem
trying to figure out what to do about the compression.

Since this is a turbo motor i would like to keep the compression around
9.5:1. The only problem is the head in the ZC has a 43.8cc combustion
chamber. vs 34.6cc for a d16z6. So i either need to get a 11:1 piston or
mill the head and use a 9:1.

Im just not sure if using a high compression piston in a high boost
application is a good idea? Ive heard rumors that the ring lands are higher
in a high compression piston which isnt going to be as strong as a lower
compression one? Am i better off milling the head? Do you have any
thoughts?

thanks,
liam

I would say neither. Milling the head will be an irreversable process for future sake.

Maybe get a thinner headgasket?

Id have to remove 2.25mm (the head gasket is only .89mm in height if i remember)

So its either wack the head 2.25mm (wow) or high compression pistons.

And wacking off 2.25mm im worried about valves hitting pistons and other clearances.

And with high compression pistons i worry about the ring lands and how they react to detination?

What pistons are you planning on using?

CP 11:1 d16a6 pistons. But if i mill the head i would use CP 9:1 pistons. My end goal is 9.5:1 compression.

Are the CP 11:1 pistons just as strong as the 9:1? I hear the ring lands are different?

Could you use D15 pistons for a higher compression, but lower than 11 CR?

Can you get the specs on their pistons?

Compression Height
Dome/Dish volume

I used Endyn pistons in my D16A1/ZC and fortunately, Larry had all of that info right on hand, so I was able to calculate things exactly.
