I am at a very hard decision...I need help and opinions!! I'm not sure if I should buy a 99 or 00 SI (take out a loan) OR mod (turbo) my SOHC in my civic ex (94) whch i already have...i love the si's...but im afraid if i have to make payments i wont have much to turbo the si...HELP!!! what would u guys do? my overall HP goal is 250-300 daily...help i know the d series r a TON cheaper so if i blwo something up i will be able to get back in the game real wquick....any insight?

 

I'll go ahead and stick up for the single cams. There is no doubt that its cheap, but if your goals are 250-300 hp daily, the motor is going to have to be built. The Si's only have a garbage B16 anyway which isn't all that better for what you would be paying. Turbo the sohc.

 

Go look for prices on D series trannies and short blocks. You'll smile just like I did. Hell, i just found a long block for $200 in MIL and a tranny for $250 $450 for complete engine and tranny

No worry about boostin, Ill have another engine warmin the bench
