Valve Seal Replacing Question...
I'm prob. gonna replace my valve seals in my H22's head when I tear it apart, and I've got a good idea of how to get them in and out.
My question is: is there anything special that I should know when putting the valves back in? Like do I have to measure or make sure something's in in the exactly precise place? Or do I just pop in the valves, reassemble everything and go?

I would just have your machine shop do it. If you are "re-doing" your head, you might as well have them re-grind your valve seats, etc. and replace the valve seals while they are at it. I believe I paid $300 CDN for a three angle valve job and complete head ***'y (including seals), cleaning, and resurfacing.

I only want to replace the seals, in case they're causing some oil to burn. Just wanna know how hard everything else is, aside from the actual seal replacement.
yup it is just pull it apart and put it back together .... pretty simple but if i were you i would do like the other guy said and just get a valve job so you know everythign is all good we usually pay like 150 for a valve job (plus parts) but it still is worth doing sence you have the head off anyway ..... besides they resurface it too and you need to do that anyway

My dad is doing this right now to his 87 Mbenz E300. Two things that he had a problem with is he needed some tool to hold up the valve so that it doesnt drop( it would be a bitch to get if it falls b/c you would have to take the whole head off) my dad is using a pressure air delivery system made by craftsman to do that job, the second thing you would need is a tool that will compress the valve spring so you can take out the collets and the seal. My dad made a DIY valve compressor but it did not work exactly as planned and then he bought the real deal. And you will probably need a good amount of time on your hands to do this.
