Default I may have quite a bit of an issue...

I have a 91 CRX Si with B20 turbo. Today, when I turned the car on, I heard a very loud tick coming from my valve cover. Anyway, it ends up a bolt on one of the rockers became loose, and fell off. This happened to the previous owner a couple of times, but stopped for a while. Any idea what can be causing this? I have EF-1 L21 camshafts (strong NA, wild FI: 262 duration/10.4 lift). Are they too big for the stock B20 valvetrain? I'm gonna try to secure it with locktite and hope for the best. Any ideas? I have yet to pull the valve cover, I turned the car off and it's been parked since.

Here are some pics.

Anyone know how much to tighten this?

Another angle:

Nut that goes on top:

Nut threaded onto it:

There are two things to tighten. One is a flat head screw, and the whole thing goes up and down as i tighten/losen. After that I have to thread the bolt over the screw. Anyone know the specs, or how I should go about doing this?

Any/all help is very much appreciated!

hmm...weirdness...I would say "RED" loctite...what bolt is it, exactly? could you replace it with a stud and double-nut it?

Definitely gonna try loctite. I'm not exactly sure which bolt is yet. I guess I find out tomorrow when I pull the valve cover off =\

Any idea how to adjust the valve? Specs?

Also, do I adjust to stock spec with these cams?

youll need the specs for the cams in the particular motor, look on the cams site. Also, do NOT start the car like that, the valve could bend and destroy the head if your lucky, the motor if your not.

Willks has the feeler gauge but he's sleeping!
Carmine said he'll probably be up between 3-4. =\

I think I have to gap .0004 and .0005, but every feeler gauge I find starts at .0008. Does anyone make a gauge that starts at .0004?

.0004 is really small, might want to double check that lash setting. I use a Snap On valve lash adjusting tool, works like a charm. Looks like this:

Do not use loctite on that nut!! You don't want it to stick. I beleive it is to be tightened to 14lbs when cold. Im not 100% sure though on the torque.

Are you sure not to use locktite? I'm probably doing it tonight so any help would be very much appreciated!

Replace nut and rocker arm, not just the nut. If it has a history of this, I wouldn't trust the parts.

Any old LS garbage someone has laying around should do.
