Anyone know a totally hassle free(no need to cut fittings to fit right)sandwich adapter for oil coolers????? What company???
I just took out my oil cooler from my civic that I will put in my teg and let me tell you , BIG mistake taking it out. Ended up having to leave the sandwich adapter on the block cause special fittings would cause serious trouble to remove. And installing we had to cut the adapter fitting to fit the adapter on snugly if not there was play between the adapter and the block. Wish I left it all alone

If you shop around you can save a TON of money. I priced one out a while back it came to like $320

I think I'll end up having the same problem with a Perma-cool sandwich plate that I got.
The adapter piece just doesn't want to thread down far enough to put any compression on the sandwich plate.
I test-fitted it without the oil cooler on the block, so it might tighten up, but I won't know until later on today.

yeah i also used a perma cool one on my honda and I had to cut the threads shorter with a special tool, be very careful cause once the fitting is threaded on the adapter it aint goin to come out. Later the fitting wont be stuck on the adapter but stuck on the block
i have a greddy oil filter adapter on mine and it works great.. no oil leaks so far and i've had it on for about 3 months now, and running hard.. so i would suggest greddy.

Perma-cool sandwich plate and M20x1.5mm IN / M20x1.5mm OUT adapter for use with most Honda's. The fitting is a 3/8" NPT to -10AN adapter. The Perma-cool sandwich plate uses 3/8" NPT ports for the oil feed and return.

Mock up on the block. The adapter is threaded all the way down. There's still a small amount of play bewteen the oil cooler and sandwich plage, and there's absolutely no compression on the sandwich plate gasket.

Solution: A washer. No cutting needed.
I'll run to the hardware store tomorrow to size one up, and post the size here.

The M20 adapter isn't anywhere near running out of threads, so it's just as easy to just shim it so that it can put some compression on the gasket to the seal the sandwich plate to the oil cooler surface.

Yeah let me know how it works in the long run, I cut mines and it fit perfect. Im going to go through it again when i reinstall it on my teg, but ill have to order another sandwich adapter. Where was the perma-cool adapter from, i forget where i got mines from.
Use a 24mm spacer washer. A 15/16" ID washer might also work.
The washer does protrude a little into the flow path, but it shouldn't affect it negatively.
I'll put up a pic after test fitting it again.

John didn't like the washer idea b/c it protruded more than he liked.
I've tried just about everything from Summit Racing.
-TD Performance Products (TRD-1358) : adapter's too long and has a really high profile, so the plate adapter and oil filter may not clear the PS hose(?)
-Permacool (PRM-186) : adapter's too long
-Earl's (EAR-514) : adapter's too long; identical to the Permacool, only more expensive
We're just gonna use a Golden Eagle piece. I talked to Tom of camp1320 and he says that he can do a plate adapter with pretty much whatever ports I needed to feed an oil pressure gauge and the Accusump. I'm thinking 1/2" NPT and 1/8" NPT ports, or -4AN and -10AN ports so I don't have to use another adapter. I think it's gonna be around $100 for it.
The Permacool and Earl's sandwich plates fit a 4G64 motor just fine tho.
