Default oil sending unit

ok here's the deal. i take the oil sending unit and try to put in the t fitting that came with the drag kit. now how come after a quarter turn it stops and it feels like if i keep turning i will just cross thread the whole thing. the oil sending unit appears to be "AN fitting". which means that the threading is a little differently. what did everyone else do. i'm thinking about going to napa and grabing another t fitting and a AN fitting like the one in the kit and do it that way.
curious of any thoughts. thanks.
12 hours of install and counting.

you need to tap the hole to a 1/8 NPT. the hole is BSPT so you can't fit an NPT in it. You can, however fit a BSPT in an NPT female!!

hope that helps. I'm in the process of doing the same thing

Default Re: oil sending unit (GruvyTune)

just go to home depot and buy some fittings....

(1) 1/8npt(at least 2" long) with both male ends. One end goes to block, the other to the "T" fitting.

(1)1/8npt "T" fitting with all female ends. Oil sending unit goes in one end and oil feed line goes into another

If I'm correct, the oil feed line would be a -3an. Just get a stright male adapter fitting from aeroquip, -3an to 1/8 NPT. Aeroquip part number is FCM2000
