Default converting obd1 to obd2!!!

To put an OBD1 motor in an OBD2 car, you can do a couple things. The first is convert your ECU to OBD1 (jumper harness, OBD1 ecu). The second is add the necessary stuff to your motor or else it will throw codes. Primarily the CKF sensor which sits on the oil pump and detects the crank rotations. The OBD1 motor doesn't have this. I am not completely sure what you would need to do with it, if its not there, you will throw a code. You will have to convert the plugs on your distributor too, the OBD2 dist only has 1 plug, teh OBD1 has 2. You just have to cut and splice either plug in. Injector plugs are also different on the OBD2 car, you either need to use OBD1 injectors or change the injector clips to OBD1. I can't think of anything else right now. I'm sure someone else will.

Why in the world would you EVER want to go backwards? Just get an either an OBDIIa 96-98 or OBDIIb 99-00 (some 98's in there) --> OBDI adapter harness and call it a day. PM Kenji. He's got em for cheap. When my friend did a B16B swap in his SI I know he payed under $200 it. I wanna say $175ish shipped.

an obd1 motor plugs right into the obd2 engine harness, then just use the obd1 ecu and jumper harness. works great.

edit* with the exception of distributor and fuel injectors possibly..
