Default obd1 vs obd2

some one told me that an obd1 motor accepts mods a lot better than obd2. He said that when you try and hook up a obd 2 motor that the ecu is not as acccepting and flexible as the obd1. The reason he gave was because of the emision levels. Is this true or is he full of it?

Default Re: obd1 vs obd2 (SPOONCIVIC_97)

obd1 is more flexible as far as tuning the ecu not the motor.
It's a matter of choice and what you are trying to do with the car.
If the ecu tuning you need is only available for obd1 then get obd1
but if you obd2 handles what you need to stay with it.
