clicking when i release clutch?
i already searched this and i didnt find the answer i was looking for. lately my car has been making clicking sounds when i release the clutch. it only used to happen when i would start in 1st gear, but it has since happened when shifting into 2nd and 3rd, and sometimes when i let off the throttle while in gear. it sounds like its coming from both front wheels. it only happens when it's in gear, when it's in neutral it's just fine so i dont think its anything with the pedal. i was thinking the CV joints might be a little worn, this is on a 99 Si with 90k miles. anyone have some input??
in advance
BTW this is all during normal driving.

yeah that is a possibility. if it was the throwout bearing, would it sound like it was coming from the front wheels? i havent heard it from outside the car though, so it may sound different.
for the response.

can't be throwout bearing. u said urself it only makes sound while in gear. if sound goes away when u clutch in then it can be throwout b/c that's when its being pushed out against pp. if it's only making the sound while in gear and the sound goes away when u push down on the clutch pedal, i would say it may be the clutch mainshaft bearing. can u describe the sound more accurately?
Hmm, how loud is the clicking noise? And this only happens while in gear?
Is it allllll the time while in gear while going, or at a dead stop?

it sounds like a kind of creaking, i would say kind of like twigs being broken. i just check the axles today and they are perfectly fine, cv boots are good, tie rods are fine, there's nothing wrong with the suspention.
brandon, it only happens when when i release the clutch pedal while going into gear and there is the initial stress on the clutch, like starting from a stop and after shifing into 2nd, etc...

yeah, its pretty noticeable, especially starting from a stop. if it is something with the clutch or TOB then its no big deal, i'll be replacing it within the next 6 months.
