Installed A/F meter, motor running then died, now fuel pump doesnt turn on...
CEL 81 and 54. Turn the key to ON position, fuel pump does not turn on, car still cranks but obviously not getting fuel. Is there a fuel pump fuse? The A/F meter was installed for a few minutes, car was running and gauge appeared to be working properly. Then while idling, its just shut off. I suspect something with the AEM EMS harness where we tapped into it, probably a wire got zapped or something. Let me know what you think.
PS I cant find the damn codes in the Helms. Anyone know what page the CEL codes are on for future reference? Ill check Cspeed in the mean time.

Checked Cspeed, there is not 81 listed. We counted it a few times and thought it was 81 but maybe not. It looked like 8 slow blinks, then 1 fast blink, then paused and start next code.
Code 54 appears to be soemthing with crankshaft fluctuation sensor or something...
who knows with the AEM though...the codes could be all screwy.

your car is doing all that from messing up the A/F meter? you didnt tap into the harness did you ?you went right into the 02 right? i dont see how that can happen ,disconnect all the **** and check it again , if that dont work , check fuses, im betting its either wired to the wrong pinouts, or you popped a fuse.
Its definitely something in the computer, but Ill check the fuses as well. I tried to connect to the ECU with my laptop and it wont connect. Somehow we zapped the computer, but Im not sure how because it was running normally and the gauge was working fine, then it just died and we were like ummmmmm ? anyway I gotta call AEM and get them to send me another chip and then reload my maps and then I should be good to go. But I gotta figure out what we did wrong. I wanna get this meter working because I installed in the clock location and it looks phat as hell lol Ill post pics once I get it working again.

Dont have a stock ECU, it was stolen, thats why I went with a standalone. But when I HAD the stock ECU, it wasnt even able to run the car and it would just flood the motor because of the injectors

dont rub it in
Im giving the AEM one more shot when the new version of the software comes out. Its supposed to be the best yet so we will see. If Im not happy with it at that point, Ill ace it and go with Hondata.
As far as the problem is concerned, everything was grounded correctly as far as I know. It was very strange: Everything was plugged in, we started up the car, and watched the meter steadily go from the lean side to the rich side as it warmed up. As the meter was going up, the car just shut off. I hope its just the AEM chip or a fuse...
Ill be calling AEM shortly to see what they think.

what fuel pump are you running? my walbro fuel pump was damaged right on delivery... had to re-use the sending part (whatever plastic part from factory pump) which is better quality anyway..
as far as chips.. according to hondata website, there 5v and 25v chips for stock ecu, if the same on aem stuff, maybe chip got corrupted.. it happened to me..

this is what i'm talking about

on the bottom under "writing a chip" section explains more on what i'm talking about.. in my case, it didn't throw any codes, check engine light stayed on at all times.
