Default Q's on tight clearances with valve adjustements

I did a search but couldn't find any usefull information on valves being too tight.

I did my valve adjustment on my b16 motor and the car is idling a little low so I'm resetting the ECU at the moment. I used the tightest clearances (.006 intake, .007 exhaust). The feeler gauges had a slight drag to them when I pushed them in sideways and I was just wondering whats the bad side of having the valves a little tighter then usual? someone mentioned something about burning valves? I was using the bent snap-on guages so I know I was using accurate tools. If the ecu reset doesn't work, should I just up the idle on the throttle body?

Thanks for any help

MAYBE it should be at that idle and your just used to it being high due to the slack?

The car is actually idling to the point where it barely starts to die off. If I give it a quick hit of gas, it bogs on the rebound and is on the verge of dying.

BUT hey, thanks for the response sport

if you can get the feeler gauge in at the lower specs, you should be alright. if you couldn't get the lower limit gauge in, you might have problems with too tight valves, which can indeed cause burned valves.

did resetting the ECU help w/ the idle? If not, are you sure you got all the hoses back on correctly and without any holes/rips in them?
