Default How can i squeeeze out some more horse?

First of all, i don't want to break the bank. Right now i cant really afford anything over a grand because im going to college in the fall. I have a 94 RS with a short arm intake, OBX headers, and ebay muffler.
Is there any other simple tweeks, mods, or DIY's that can sqeeze more horse out of my car? Please don't vent and crap about me beign cheap, because i really can't afford too much right now.

Could always gut ur cat. Pretty simple, quick, and more flow.

here's a suggestion....don't gut your cat....get a test pipe from a local muffler shop.....you want to keep that cat for emission purposes. PUT ALL YOUR STOCK PARTS BACK ON...and sell the parts you have....use that money to buy quality parts...patience is probably your best bet for quality parts if cash flow is a problem

thats what i would do. look into buying quality parts, even if they are used.

Don't be a tool, you wont feel any more horsepower, gutting your cat is good for some pollution and maybe some psychological horse power.

Or dont, either way. As far as selling all your parts, I wouldnt. Your not gonna get alot for them, and you wont see any gains from an AEM intake over yours, or an Apexi muffler over yours. Theres not too much you can do power wise without spending some dough. If I were you I might buy one of those ebay bracing packages. For like 60 bucks you get front and rear strut bars, a lower tie bar and some other stuff I think. Its cheap, and Im sure you would feel alittle difference.

hmm....i dunno....was it really that much of a difference

just buy a nitrous kit....like $600, if you really want a lil power and you dont care about your motor

i say you do one of two things... A) milk your engine for every hp its got. pull some weight reduction like dropping the back seats, rip out all your powerstearing equipment, gut your cat, ect. in total you probolly wont get alot of hp but a few. or B) stop wasting your money on shatty parts and save for somethign substancial. dont put another dollor into a new radiator cap or clear corners, save your bills and eventually go nitrous or get on ebay and buy some new cams. they will be more expensive but the best way to feel hp. and personally i say selling your aftermarket parts to help buy em would be the best bet.

Gutting ur cat would result in the same thing as a test pipe...so therefore ur saying a test pipe wouldnt add power? This is free too, but I guess I shouldve made a test pipe instead of wasting a cat...o well.
