Advice on Exhaust
Tomorrow im switching out my stock cat and Tanabe cat back exhaust sytem. For my 3"Carsound Cat and 3 inch piping, im still gonna use the same muffler. I was wondering if I should get a resonator or just go straight

You're going to use the Tanabe muffler? Isn't it only like a 2.36" inlet? That will create a lot of unwanted restriction.
and I say no resonator. I removed my resonator, and it didn't increase in volume. I didn't notice a bit more droning on the highway, but i could hardly tell the resonator was gone. i didn't really notice any performance benefits, either, but that was probably because i was running low boost.

Re: Advice on Exhaust (Bspec18)
I just bought some parts for my block and ran out of cash to get a new muffler. But i have to change the cat cause its clogged. So I thought this was a good time to get 3" and the muffler shop said they could increase the inlet. I think its a little bigger than 2.36 its the G-Power muffler. Beside i've had the exhaust for 5 years and the muffler still looks brand spankin new

Re: Advice on Exhaust (Bspec18)
but the piping THROUGH the muffler is still 60 mm or 65 mm ... whatever Tanabe uses. So even if the inlet is enlarged, the piping through the muffler won't be.
