Default White smoke, headgasket replaced....what else?

There is white smoke from my exhaust, even at idle. I have replaced the headgasket, but the smoke is still there! What could it be?

check around your intake manifold for leaks. especially by the coolant port. do a compression test

it may be you your valve seals as well. I'm getting white smoke, and I'm getting 210 across the board on the compression test.

The smoke is white, so I assume it is water?

Compression test first...see what happens. Like they said also could be valve guide seals.....looks like it might be time for a rebuild!

How long have you let it run?
It will take a long, long while to burn out the anti-freeze which has contaminated the exhaust...
---Is it overheating or losing/burning oil?????---

I replaced the headgasket on my bosses Saab which his wife
drove until "it just stopped"..It took a thirty mile hell-drive to make it quit smoking..

Condensation in your exhaust! That would be my guess since the weather changes from hot to cool from day to night and droplets of water form inside your exhaust due to the extreme change in temp. Now if it still does it for more than 5 or 10 minutes after your car is up to temp, Then there is another problem. Hope this helps!

Did you send the head out to a machine shop to make sure there were no cracks and such(also that it wasn't warped)?
I know it costs a little bit of dough,BUT,if you don't have it checked--You might be just wasting your time and money,by just replacing the gasket.

If it were water, the 'smoke' would only stay around for a bit, and wouldn't have a smell. Oil burns white/grey. I've never heard of blue smoke from burning oil... Maybe a weird grey tint. heh. Most likely seals man. My friend has a blown head gasket, and he drives it every now and then (retard), but coolant is getting burnt, and it is weird smellin. Oil burning is bad stinky, coolant isn't quite as strong though. Still stinks though. Haha, bad stinky.

I don't smell nothing from my smoke, but it's only when I get on it, that I see the smoke in my rear view mirror, when I'm getting close to redline.

my car pukes out white smoke after it sits over night but only for about 30 secs and then its fine and it only does it in the summer. I am guessing I am having the same problem with condensation.
