Question about gas milage / motors...
This is sorta a stupid question, but from all my understandings it sorta makes no sense. OK, people with Si's are getting 30 mpg. People with DX's are getting 30-31 mpg. People with B16's are getting 27-30 mpg. People with ZC are getting 30 mpg. People with Z6 are getting 30 mpg. Can anyone explain this to me? I mean, 2 fuel injectors vs 4 (DX vs the rest) - you would think a huge gas milage improvement would be there - but look at HF models. Why do all the motors get the same gas milage? All of these motors have much more HP than the DX model, but yet it seems pointless to even have a POS 1.5L with 92 HP!!!
Will someone please explain it to me? it really frustrates me to see my friends 240sx with the SR20det getting 25 mpg and he drives hard, and hearing all these guys with 160 hp in a civic gettin the same gas milage as me

I used to be able to go 325 miles on my DX engine before the tank was bone dry.
The most I've gone with my ZC is 240 miles before a refill and I had like 4 gallons left in my tank even though it said I was on empty. So I figure I could get at least 280, maybe even 300 before it was bone dry.
And for the DX I also figure that sure it has 2 fuel injectors but perhaps they are just dumping in the same amount of fuel most of the time.

I have a dx with about 100k and i get 35mpg almost consistently.
Just make sure you use the stock 13 inch tires and you're guaranteed to get over 30 mpg
Don't rev past 3k in each gear except in 5th, when you're going like 80 and above on highway, I have been as high as 40mpg almost.

I have a 1991 Civic Hatchback Standard. Thats got the 70hp 1.5 liter, and a 4 speed stick. 193k miles(I bought it 2000 miles ago).
Mixed city driving I get 35-39mpg. On a trip with mostly highway at 65-70 mph(2 lane country highways, not interstate), I got 43.5 mpg.
I'd say my driving style is average. I have to beat it a little beucase its got so little power, but I've been trying to not be too hard on it because its my daily driver, and I wanted it to last. Now that I have a B18A in the garage, wonder what my mileage will be with that. I crunched the numbers, and my highway RPM will be the same with the LS motor and trans...3800rpm @ 80 mph (195/60R14 tires).

I dont even know yet what the MPG is on my B20. It DRINKS gas if you get on it. I was @ 3/4 tank and like a day lattor I was @ 1/4 tank. Maybe cause I was running really hard to redline like everyshift? lol

The hf stands out from all of them simply because of the engine and tranny gearing. As for the rest of the D series they should all be similar as the power is reasonably close as well as the gearing. The dx's suck *** because of the dpfi...yes 2 injectors but theyre also bigger, as well as the throttle body is VERY restrictive. My bone stock dohc zc gets just at 30mpg, Si tranny, reasonably hard driving. My dx gets about 33, easy driving, just an intake. I would be curious to do a mpfi swap on it and see what happens to the mileage.
