Default Another ls vs. b16a

There are two crx's that im lookin at. One has an ls/vtec and the other has a b16a. If the ls/vtec was just an ls than i would have choosen the b16a(which im hooked on) but it is an ls/vtec and I dont know much bout the engine. I have acoupke of quetions.1 Which is faster, 2 which is more reliable( im only a junior in highschool), 3 which is easiest to hook up, 4 which works with modifications better(especially a revhard turbo which I plan to have by Christmas)5 Which is better for street/drag/auto-x racing. I know there has been millions of questions about engine swaps but none has quit answered my questions fully. Thanks and sorry about the repetitive question.

Unless you know the shop that put the LS/VTEC together, and you inspect the motor really well, go for the B16A CRX. There's too many things that can be wrong w/ the LS/VTEC if it wasn't done correctly.

Just go for the B16A. You're young, you'll probably beat the crap out of the car... and the B16A will most likely be more reliable.

1. I would say the LS/VTEC is faster in the same car with the same mods.
2. The B16 is more reliable, but the LS/VTEC could also be. The key is putting it together properly with the right parts.
3. B16
4. Don't know. I'd say it's personal preference. As long as you set them up correctly they will both give you good response.
5. Again personal preference. Street, Drag, X-crossing, all require different setup's to be the best.
This is my .02

Well since im in highschool and Im no master mechanic, I'm probably gonna get the b16a but i got one more question. If I were gonna buy bolt ons for the b16a, do I buy them for the civic si application or what?( For Example, I go to http://www.modacar.com and I want to buy an intake, pulleys, and cam gears, do I order them for a civic si or do i have to go to a jdm site to buy the basic upgrades?) Thanks.

99-00 Si parts should fit for the most part. I always used Del Sol VTEC parts, because sometimes 99-00 Si parts didn't fit. IM me if you need some help.
