i got a 96 hatch and last week my car wouldnt start - not a sound from the engine when i turn the key. so i jumped the car (it did take like 10 minutes and 30 tries though) and it was fine for a week. and then on the weekend i went to las vegas. when i came back i tried to start my car it did the same thing - when i turn the key there is NOTHING, no sound from the engine or anything like my car is dead. the only thing i could think of is that it was my battery but i just got a new battery like 3 months ago. so i cant even go to school right now cuz im gonna wait til my dad comes home so i can jump the damn thing again. anyone have this problem before or know what it is? thanks.

naw...always turn my lights off...

 

have the battery checked out... Also if your car is manual push it in 1st gear and pop the clutch to turn it on. Works for me. Just take it to a mechanic for a diagnostic.

 

next time it happens.. turn on radio or headlight..see if work..if they do then tap the starter witha hammer.if that does not work .. could be coil.. or loose igniter wire etc..

 

weird thing is, last week the radio and headlights were workin even tho my car wouldnt start - i just went out and tried to turn the headlights on and see if my radio works - both dont turn on. does that mean my battery went out even tho i just got the damn thing like 4 months ago? could it be my alternater?

batteries can just up and die with out warning....

take your battery to sears and have a load test done to it.
