Default fuel pressure regulator

do you have to run your aftermarket fpr through your stock one or do you just replace it?

You replace it, or in the case of the B&M, modify it.

What's your setup?

fprs like aem, sx, and aeromotive completely replace the stock unit. the b&m is used by chopping off the top of your stock fpr and replacing it with the b&m piece. this allow you to turn up the fuel pressure. the downsides are that you can't lower pressure below stock and it doesnt have the options of changeable fuel return orifices like some of the others

Again - what is your setup.... if you tell us we can help you, and determine if you need the adjustable regulator.

the fuel pressure relief mod works but i wouldnt recommend it unless ur desperate. it makes starting up the car a real bitch. gotta prime the pump so many times just to build up pressure to start, it gets annoying. esp if you have electronics that are powered with the ignition

i'm installing the sohc greddy turbo for the d16 with stock internals, dsm injectors but can seem to get the car running good at all.......pretty sure it's the fuel pressure for the injectors.

You need something to control the injectors like Hondata or the SAFC. Otherwise, it will run like doggy doo as you are finding out.

you HAVE to tell the computer to cut down the fuel either with a chip, hondata, or an AFC... You have to remember... Your computer thinks you have a stock injector in there... think of that as a garden hose... So therefore the ECU is gonna say "Ok, run the injectors at 80%"... Now you put in dsm injectors, which in relation to the garden hose is like a fire hose... But the ECU is still saying "Run the injectors at 80%" so therefore, your DUMPING too much fuel... Be careful, you can wash out the cylinders and screw up your rings...
