funny smells and lose of idle
After i get on my car hard it makes a funny smell like really high octane gas and wont idle till i shut the car all the way off and turn it back on.... do dont think this is a good thing nebody have this problem or heard of it please post back
I have that same problem. It didn't start happening to me until I put on a 255ihp high pressure fuel pump. It probably has something to do with your fuel set up.
vafc hack, first gen dsm injectors, 255 walbro, aem rail, b&m regulator, and like 46 psi......but i have a Hp racing intake manifold, jg 65mm throttle body and vortech charger w/o after cooler
i got a 255 and fucked up idle too, dsm 450's, uberchip, and now im throwing code 3, map sensor. **** hesitants all the time too. **** is definatley fucked up........

do you still have your catalytic converter?? if not then you're probably smelling a shitload of unburnt gas at that fuel pressure....
not to mention you're probably bogging down as it's dumping soo much gas into the combustion chambers. crank the car to idle it real quick and then shut it down (don't rev it) then pull a plug and smell it. if it smells like gas really bad then you're running WAY too ******* rich and need to reduce fuel pressure....
just because you've got a badass fuel system doesn't really mean you need it at maximum

i have a high flow cat.... but like its really weird because sometimes it wont do it but sometimes it will i think i got a bad fuel pump but i dunno.....and sometimes when i restart it, it will like idle at like 430-540 rpms and then shut back off .......im at a loss
try leaning it out on 1 and 2 setting on vafc at idle and 2k rpm, slowly go neg % till it stops bogging out, that bad idle is just coming from too much fuel.
when u say BAD idle is it IDELING too high or what? i got a t3/t4 setup w/ vortec fmu, 225fule pump,440 RC injectors, and i get that DEEP turbo idle. its due to fuel increase if your car doesn’t take off the same w/ the new fuel upgrades LEAN her out till she is more responsive. i look at it as a NORMAL thing. also i have to take sides w/ who ever said ... if u don't have a cat ur smelling un-burnt fuel. i'm running a test pipe and YUP i spit flames every soo often BUT she doesn't smell good at all.. its a fuel hungry animal now. ... the life a turbo car... got to love it..
You can just mess with your idle with the v-acf, but that can only fix soo much. You'll have to turn the little screw in your thottle body to adjust for the idle. But once you start change the fuel set-up it would be help full to get a chip to handle the new set-up. If you look up Evilxkid, he can burn you a chip for obd0 and he's working on obd1 right now. I have a burnt chip for 370cc injectors and the car idles better then ever.

hey i was watching my fuel pressure gauge and when i push the butterfly on the throttle body it drops from 46psi down to 32psi. but that doesnt really back sence to me because i have a walbro 255
how would it resrict flow if its at the end of the flow line..... and also my pressure gauge on my fuel rail drops down to like 32psi when iam on, but i have like 48 at idle

what? the fuel pressure regulator is right at the fuel rail and functions according to manifold pressure....it doesn't matter if it's at the fuel tank or right in front of the injector. if it sees a pressure difference it will either open or close (increase fuel pressure or restrict it).
hell, the fuel pump could be pumping a constant 80psi of pressure but if the fpr cuts it off at 32psi then all you see is....32psi...

hell, you got me there...maybe fpr is going bad or getting a bad signal? you don't have an extra one you can try or hook it to a different place on the manifold? where do you have the fuel pressure gauge hooked to in the line?
could be a vacum leak also..when ounder no load the vais at hits highest.. so it will suck and suck.. but when put into a "0" psi (NO VACUM) then u could be losing press so now your FPR things that your manifold isn't getting that much press so its dropps fule pres.
check that..
check that..
