Strange Problem
Well I have been having a idle problem. The car has been hunting for idle and smoking at idle. Today we checked my fast idle valve. We plugged it and all the problems went away. Ok now on to the strange part. Before we plugged the fast idle my base fuel pressure was at 30psi or so. Now my car is at 40psi. I have turned my adjustable regulator down all the way and it will not drop. Also now under boost my car only sees 43psi of fuel, when before it was 90psi or so. Since the only thing we had changed was plugging the fast idle, I changed it back to the way it was. Car hunts for idle again, but still I have the same fuel problem. Its almost like my FMU quit. Any ideas?
Here is a run down of the car

Re: Strange Problem (Turbo EG6)
The aluminum cylinder in those FMUs sometimes will lock up and stick in the FMU. Try disassembling it (not recommeded by vortech, btw hehe) and see if the cylinder slides in/out smoothly. I do not see how the two problems could be related, though.

Re: Strange Problem (dustin)
Well it was the fmu. The lower diaphram was stretched and the alumn. disc was crushed. It just so happened it went out when we messed with the fast idle. Go figure. Thanks for the help!
