The reason i'm asking this question is i have a 9815 on the way. Alpine suggests a direct fused connection to the battery for each of these decks because of the high voltage of the internal amp. I'm wondering how you wired it. I'm also curious if you got the power antenna to only go up only when your listening to the radio and since you have a vtec did you get the 6 x 9 sub working also? Please give me some install tips before i take on this little project. Sorry for the long post.

easy:

alpine has a remote amp turn on wire *AND* a power antenna wire. Just use the amp wire for the rear amp and the power antenna wire for the power antenna turn on.

As to wiring it, just run it to the battery via the firewall anywhere you can find room. The radio works without doing this, but it limits your power output. My civic for example could only hit 18 w/o the lights on the radio dimming running off the factory wiring. Upgraded just the 12V constant line by running 16 guage to the battery, and I could hit 24 on the radio before it would dim. So yes it does make a difference

it is in the instruction. but i have the 9815 on my si lude, and i didnt' run the extra wires, and i didnt' notices the power dimming. as for the antenna, since mine is broke i didnt' bother with it. i believe if you hook up the 6x9 as a rear speaker which plugs into the rear RCA you might be able to get it to work. else just splice it in. not too many ppl run the 9815 yet since it is new.

I cut the fuse out of my alpine...it's already fused at the fuse box, why bother with another? I've had no issues with mine...and as a little bonus, my 96 Accord LX doesn't have an antenna...never had an external antenna so's I don't worry about that...

i am a alpine dealer and i would really suggest running the wire out to the batt. use a 10 guage wire to do so. if you don't you could possible damage you illumination system i have seen this happen several times.
