I know I did.

no, trust me, it toally went back to stock feeling. I am VERY sure of it
is it possible that the lock nut fell out? and that the shifter is holding on to the linkage by the nut thread?
But I locked it down good with a racket and a hext key

people seem to think that short shifters are meant to shorten the throw and height. some short shifters have adjustable height but majority of all short shifters are meant to reduce the throw by a few percent from stock. skunk2 shifters are actually one of the best around...as for its height it will sit taller than stock to some chassis more than others. trust me that throw is shorter with the skunk2 in your car its just sometimes the power of suggestion gets out of hand.

unless its loose its not possible to "go back" to stock length w/a SS. like everyone else is saying...first off the skunk2 isn't a HUGE shorter throw and you probably go used to it, after a month w/my SS i could barely tell the difference anymore

You shoudl have compared the two shifters prior to installation. That would give you a sense of whether the pivot point was higher or lower than the new shifter.
I don't think I gotten use to it THAT fast.
I installed it last weekend and it was short and stiff
I don't know when but probably tuesday I stopped feeling it all together.
I know my stock shift feeling and I am aware how my short shifter feels after 2 days of shifting.
Now it's long and easy to shift (not stiff anymore)

maybe thats the discomfort in your shifting?

I crawled under the car to look, nothing out of ordinary.
I didn't work on it though, going to take everything apart and put them back to see if that helps
the shifter nut is in place, but I do hear funny sound when I shift

i agree. it isnt that short, but it just feels great to shift. almost like the shifter just falls into gear.

Get some white lithium grease(Shucks, Sears, etc.. ~$2) and lightly coat the poly bushing. Lay the linkage on the ground on its side and put the new busing on top of where it needs to go. Use something to slowly push it in and use your fingers to make sure that you don't lose your progress, move slowly around the circular shape pushing it in bit by bit and then putting pressure down with your fingers to maintain the progress. A socket wrench worked great for me. Good luck!
