99-00 Mini Me IAC problem and IAC Code!
Here is my setup: 2000 y7 block, w/96-98 head, I have an auto IM and TB. I also am using the 2000 manual ex ecu... ALL the pins are different on 99-00 but same concept, i swapped my IAC postive *black/blue to the IAC signal... I also blocked off the IAC on the TB with a cut up pop can, so it wouldnt read any air...It use to bounce idle from 800 to 2200... know its perfect @ 500 rpms.... The problem comes after about 10ish minutes of driving, it throws the IAC code... I measured the volts for it, and they are at 6, i know they are suppose to be around 12v...any idea what is up with it? I will try another IAC *i have 3 of them* in the morning... let me know if you guys have any info

Ive determined that it is either i have to get the IAC for my ECU.. 2prong... or something is wrong with my wiring... because the IAC doesnt come on all the time, and it just randomly happens whenever it feels like it... no matter if it is after i just got done beating on it.. or i am cruzing up my driveway (2000 feet long) .... anyone?
sometimes the intake manifold might be the problem. The auto houses 3 wire iac as the manual uses 2 wire. did you not use the orange wire?? coz you dont need that one
nope, didnt use the orange wire
im using the black/blue.... IACp ...
i still cant figure out why everything goes fine for nearly 30mins..then all the sudden it throws the check engine light... It must be a loose wire or something

so your using a 3 wire auto iacv with a 2 wire manual ecu? how the hell did you get the 3 wire to work at all? i tired to figure out how to get the 3 wire to work like a 2 wire and no matter where i put 12v and ground it wouldnt work right...but maybe my auto TB's iacv is bad. i would say thats definately your problem.
lol, well at first i had that lumpy idle that bounced from 800-2200 rpms.. so i took a can, beer can, suposedly thats the only kinda of can that works.. lol, and im a jdm freak, and have a beer can collection, so i used this like 1970s beer can from japan, and built a block off gasket for the IAC. The intentions were to block off all air flow from the car, so it has a perfect idle.... it would be a rough idle upon starting on a cold morning, but a lil throttle assistance would clean it right up...
3 wire = black/blue, orange and yellow/black.
2 wire = black/blue and yellow/black.
Have you splice the yellow/black on your three wire?

yes, to extend it...if thats what you mean... my y7 harness iac wires were too short, i will rebuild them in the next hour and let you know if that helps
all the wires still go to the same spot on the iac, and the yellow black still goes to the original spot on the ecu plug... which is the same on both the y7 and y8... maybe that black/yellow, doesnt have the greatest connection in the world, so i will rewire it in a few minutes here...and see how she goes
