AE86 Treuno won't start!!!!
hey guys, my friends treuno died and we're tried to get her running before this weekends drift competition =P
What happened....
He was driving on the freeway, when the car started to bog and fade until it finally died. He tried started her back up a few more times and after starting it would just die again with some misfires. After that it wouldn't even crank, there would only be a "click" sound from the starter.
Ideas....
we knew that it wasn't fuel because in the on position we could still hear the fuel being primed at the rail and also, it wouldn't even crank....
we were left with electrical wiring or ignition
distributor/ dist cap
We thought it was the distributor, but from what I'm heard/seen with distributors, when they die, the car will just die, it won't even gradually fade before dieing...
checked out the dist cap and it seemed fine. could be the entire distributor.....
Battery/alternator....
but the voltage on the battery is reading fine, and we tried another battery and got the same results.
starter......
we thought that perhaps it was the starter, so we tried a clutch/push start, but still nothing.....
we're running out of ideas.....
ignition coil.....
some wiring that we missed......
WE NEED HELP!!!! He didn't get much help from his AG forums but i told him that the honda-tech guys would know =P
thanks guys (and gals)

have you checked the timing belt/chain? im not sure if that is an interference engine or not but you could be hitting a piston on a valve and that could cause the starter to sit and click. im not much of a mechanic but thats my guess good luck
