Intermittent startup issues
This has been happening since August/September, but prior to it happening this past Saturday, the last occurrence was in November, or so. It's not an everyday thing, which is what is so weird.
What happens is, as soon as I start the car, it dies within seconds, and completely shuts off. If I try to start it up again, you can hear it cranking, but the motor just won't turn over. However, if you let the car sit for at least a few minutes, the engine will usually turn over without problems. Once the car is running, everything works fine.
Events from last Saturday:
3:45PM - Car started, but immediately died. Attempt to restart car fails.
3:50PM - Attempt #2 fails
4:00PM - Attempt #3 fails.
4:45PM - Attempt #4 is a success (I let the car sit until my dad got home from work)
I don't believe that it's the battery, distributor, or starter. All have either been tested, or replaced.
Haynes manual says:
1) Loose or faulty electrical connections at the distributor, coil, or alternator
2) Insufficient fuel reaching the fuel injectors
3) Vacuum leak at the gasket between the intake manifold and throttle body
Your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

If the main relay isn't working, that might explain the short run period followed by no start at all. The engine uses up what little fuel may be left in the fuel rail and dies. The main relay provides power to the pump and injectors for the 1 or 2 seconds after the ignition is first turned to run (while the CEL is lit), then again once it gets a signal that the engine is turning. Listen for the hum of the fuel pump during this period.
