Default b16a Pistons in b18b ?

Just bought an integra for my girl for her ingagement gift, She has an automatic dx hatch. The Teggie of coarse has a b18b and it is an automatic (for now) I wanted to raise the compression and I hera b16 pistons are a good way to go. I can get a complete set for 100. What does it take to install them and what does it do for the compresion rate?
All we are looking for is to keep up with the sohc 5 speeds in the 8th. We may turbo the motor after I get My ITR swap installed and debugged.

B16 pistions are a 1.6 and B18 are 1.8 unless you plan on destroakin it or using B16B (1.8 Type R pistions.)

wait a minute, im almost positive that you can use the b16 pistons...the stroke is diff. from the diameter of the pistons. ppl use the b16 pistons all the time in LS/VTEC. i suggest getting some new rod pins (ARP) and basiclly redo most of the hardware while you are inside there cuz the B18a/b dont have very strong hardware. you may need to have the rods slightly machined for correct fitment but dont quote me on that. the best thing to do is do do a search. good luck man

ummm... right...

Anyway, they work well. Typical installation, new rings and preferrably hone the
cylinder walls. If there is some scarring on the walls, go with .25mm overbore.

THey will fit. yOuld be lookin at low 11 compression ratio. Can change em right on the car, take off the head and oil pan, get new rings, and use those ball swirler honers. Kinda ghetto, but thats what im doing to my GSr motor. 11.3 C/R aint bad.

Your an idiot.

The b16 pistons will drop in your b18. As far as the install goes, depending on how your cylinder walls look, you might need a hone and you'll need new rings and a new head gasket, if you pull the head (hone).

Try and get p30(jdm sir2) pistions, they will up the compression more so than pr3 (first gen/99-00si)

Stock compression on a b18b is 9.2:1

the p30 pistions will up the compression to ~11.1:1

the pr3 pistions will up the compression to ~10.8:1

Excuse my stupidness. The B16 is a 1.6 correct? The B18b (LS motor, if not this is where Im mess'd up my bad to me) is a 1.8? Please explain.

All B series pistons are interchangeable except B20's. The dome displacement on the B16 piston is much bigger than a B18a/b piston. You can put the B16 pistons in the B18a/b motor and to raise the compression.

The thing is... how can you have 1400+ posts and NOT know anything. What are you posting about?

like he said all b series hvae the save bore (81mm) except the b20. The strokes differ among the engines thus changing he displacements

The bore of the piston is the diameter. They have the same diameter. The stroke is different. Stroke depends on the length of the rod, not the diameter of the piston.

With JDM Type-r pistons, you'll get 10.8:1
p30 (jdm b16a sir2) pistons, you'll get 11.0:1
pct pistons (civic type-r) will get you 11.4:1

hondata sells a piggyback for your ecu so you can modify the fuel and rpm.

Actually, it should be:

PCT (JDM Civic R) - ~12.0

No way could you turbo 11 to 1 but it would be plenty faaast for her until I could afford a good dependable turno build.

actually, a b18b w/b18c head with pct is 12.27:1...b16 head is 11.9:1.

b18a/b w/ ctr pistons is 11.4:1
