Default Harness help - brand and source

I did do a search first... so don't give me any of these...

I need a 5 point harness to fit a Sparco Rev Seat... car will have a full rollcage. What is a good harness and price and source?

Thanks in advance,

Scot

Sabelts are a very good value. Their hardware is top notch too. You can get it through Racer Wholesale.

This is real simple.

SIMPSON has both the Latch type and Camlock. I have the latch version. The online catalog will help you as well. They have an 800 number to call if you are interested. Northeast Safety near Hershey is also a dealer.
The store in Concord, NC is where I generally buy mine, but Summit Racing now stocks them too. The set that I bought (harnesses - PULL Down, belts-PULL Up, and anti-sub strap) came to about $175. This includes the hardware package that permits the belts and and strap to be mounted using 'Eye-bolts', which I think is easier to work with. I too have the REV seat. The harnesses will attach directly to the cross tube on the roll cage behind you. You must specify this mounting method.

If you need pictures of my setup (except anit-submount) I have them. Make sure you follow the Simpson install guide for their belts-very important that it be done right. You will nedd to position the seat where you want it for track/autcross use and then position the belts and strap mounting. Use the huge backup washers that they sell. Other Q's-drop me an e-mail. Good luck

Sparco harness would work good, and would give you that coordinated look. I like mine.

i did just get a quote from OGRACING for a 5 point Sparco black 3" harness (cam, pull down) with mounting hardware(including a small mounting plate for the crotch mount) and shipping for $198.64.

Can anyone beat that and have it to me fairly quickly?

So far nobody has made a good argument against G-force harnesses. From what I understand the sparcos sold in the states are SFI and not FIA rated. The G-force harnesses are SFI rated as well and at the price they are hard to overlook. The camlocks even use the same hardware as the sparcos. Does anyone have a real good reason to not buy G-force?

The G-force stuff uses Sabelt hardware, at least my set did. Sabelt makes the hardware for Sparco.

You just don't get the pimpy Sparco name on it. The webbing may be made stateside though. Check for certs.

It looks like RacerWhole sale has moved to the G-Force line of products. At least that is what their website is showing. Maybe they can still offer the Sabelt combo they used to if you call them.

SPECTORracing - has offered a total package for a 5 point camlock with mounting hardware for $135.

I assume it is http://www.honda-challenge.com approved.

honda-challenge doesnt approve anything.

your hardware has to be approved by the santioning body before you can race.

you need SFI approved harnesses, no more than 5 years old, no tears/rips/grease stains.

Some of the nicest ones I've seen are from Autopower...at least I liked them. The cam is just a dial, without a little stick thingy coming off it that you can catch with your suit. The cams have a very positive, well-built feel to them. They came from ioportracing.com.

Don't have pictures...sorry, it's not my car.

Did I mention that Summit ships to PA overnight at no added charge via FEDEX Ground. I get my stuff next day. Total price of goods with a $7.95 handling fee added-great packaging. Simpson ships nearly as fast from Texas.

You mean takata?

Overpriced JDM crap. No reason to spend that much money when you can get a pair for less than one harness. Hell, even the really really nice schroth harnesses ( http://www.rennsportsystems.com/schroth.html ) are less.
