b16a fit on gsr shortblock right? compression?
yes it will. bascially this is whats called poorman's ITR motor. the compression will be about .25 points lower (as in about 9.8:1 vs 10:1 for the stock GSR)
if you can drop some PR3 or P30 pistons in the block to up the compression

nice thing about that setup if you were slightly more inclined to power,
JDM ITR pistons with that head on the stock head gasket would get you
to about 11.5:1... ITR intake manifold will bolt right onto the B16 head
and even w/o the ITR cams you would still have a mammoth beast with
IHE @ about 185/130 at the wheels with an ITR computer in it. if you have
the B16 head out, I would suggest dropping in ITR intake valves, valvesprings
and LMAs. Go ahead and have the head cleaned up some in the valve runners.
There is a ridge inside near the intake valves that can be made smooth, this
is one of the primary differences with the ITR head. Have fun with it. Hope it
works out good

11.6:1 CR with those JDM B16 pistons... well consider this. If everything was GSR besides the pistons the compression alone with the GSR ECU with the right fuel enrichment would probably bump the motor 25hp to 195/140 flwyheel. Hence,
something like 165/128 at the wheels, all else stock. Now, due to throwing on a B16 head no other mods... you would have to consider your IM choice, computer choice, etc. because the GSR ECU is an odd duck due to that intake manifold with the IAB on it and low VTEC point. If you had a semi worked B16 head with ITR full valvetrain, ITR IM and ECU, then you would have a somewhat worked up car. Even with GSR or B16 I would prefer GSR cams I would estimate about 175whp peak on stock stuff, 185 w/IHE. Cams and the right tuning could get that motor in the 190s Im guessing. Stock GSRs from factory have see about 150/115whp/tq when they are strong and broken in correctly.

it would be:
pr3 head with a slight port job(garage)
CTR cams and valvetrain
pr3 ecu
good i/h/e
gsr bottom end with pr3 pistons
