Default To Stroke Or Not To Stroke

I'm in the process of rebuilding my motor after dropping a valve, and I'm trying to decide on my next course of action.... I definitely want to stay all motor, but want a little more motor, if ya know what I mean... I've heard alot about stroker kits, but I don't know if I want to go that way... I've read lots of posts about good and bad things, but I'm not leaining either way just yet... I'm tired of pumping money into this car, so this will be the last build, so I want long term reliability... Should I just bore it slightly and go with bigger pistons??

My goal is right around 190-200 whp, and I've already got a ported/polished head, with Skunk2 stage 2's in it, and i/h/e...

What do the experts on the All Motor forum think???

I'm guessing you have a b18c, if so you don't need to buy a stroker kit they are too expensive IMO. If you want more displacement I would just bore your block 84mm and buy some Darton sleeves. You can still get your goal with the 1.8 liter block.

Isn't 84mm awfully big? Or is that why you sleeve it, to maintain the structural integrity??

Yea i think the max you can go on stock sleeves is 82mm.So if you want a big bore and tougher sleeves then you re-sleeve it.What kind of motor are you trying to build?

it would be nice to tell us what motor you have when your asking our opinion.. ..instead of letting all of us speculate...
but in most cases, its not worth stroking unless you plan to full-out race!

Thought my username would tell what motor I'm running, but if not, it's a B18C....

bend the oil squirters back a little, put some JDM type R pistons on LS rods with ARP rod bolts, all on a LS crank, and with a b16 head with type R camshafts. man that **** would be smokin like crazy.

I think I just want to bore it to 84mm, sleeve it, and call it a day... I'm tired of driving the 89 Prelude...

I think that 2.0L with a nice port/polish and Skunk2 stage 2 cams should make a nice combination...

I don't think that'll be a problem.. I'll throw some total seal rings on there, Spoon head gasket, and do everything else right this time, and this motor should scream! Can't wait!

Another question... I've already upgraded my injectors (didn't go crazy and got 270's) and thought an FMU wouldn't hurt, so picked one of those up, too... Should I really consider upgrading my fuel rail and pump? Or should I be okay with what I've got (stock)??? Thanks for the continued help!
