transmission or clutch?
i was driving the other night when i hit the shifter and took it out of 5th gear. it can also go out of gear with almost all gears without my foot on the pedal. it is a stock tranny with a new clutch put in in December. which one is it my tranny or clutch? any concern?
So while your driving you can just pull it out of gear? So does it happen while your giving it gas? Cause if your just like costing it will pull out of gear without the clutch.
it happens when i am driving that it comes out of gear. i realized that when my leg hit it the other night. i just got the clutch installed in december. what do i do?
Do you notice your clutch slipping at all or is this the only thing that ever happens?? Try this go and start out take off in first and into second like normal then shift into 5th if it just bogs down your clutch is fine if the RPM's jump up a little then your clutch is slipping. Another thing you may want to do is try adjusting your clutch by the adjuster on the tranny.
taking the tranny off a gear without pushig the clutch its something normal .... u can do that.... nuttin tis going to brake...
doesnt mean something its breaking
doesnt mean neither that u supposed to do it that way.....
now, if it comes outta gear without u touching it..... thats another story....

Exactly what I was trying to say in my first post that you can pull it out of gear without the clutch. And like you said if it was coming out on its own thats different or if you could put it INTO gear without thats another problem.

how would powershifting save your clutch?
how do you powershift?
in my tractor, i shift without using the clutch. but i have to match the engine rpm to the tranny rpm, if i miss my window the tranny will grind!

there you go....make sure you know what range you can do it on your rpm mine usually shifts between 4-5k and believe me this saves your clutch in the long run as long as u know where to shift it, i was a driver for a local truck company and this takes practice, you have to know your ride well and if its not shifting...by all means use the clutch, thats what its for but power shifting does save the life of your clutch even mechanics who work with gearboxes in our haulers recommend that too, bad thing is, it has to be on high rpm

you may only have 2500 rpms to work with, but it's as cool as it gets! in car trannies, it takes lots of practice! i for one, will stick to regular shifting with my tranny! it cost too much money to rebuild trannies, during the powershifting learning curve!
