Clutch??
So i get into my car a few days ago and everything is fine except the fact that the clutch pedal wont come up. It like sticks to the floor. So i figure its just the hot weather or something.
Today, I get in my car, it starts up fine, but the clutch is still sticking. and i cant get it in any gear. I tried lifting off the clutch, back down, 2nd gear to first, reverse to first, 3rd, 4th, 5th, no gears will go in.
So i turn the engine off and put it in gear. Slides in fine, now i start the car with it in gear and it starts to shake and wobble really violently. I shut it off.
Is what i am describing a burnt out clutch??? If so what company makes a good clutch that is basically a stock replacement. I want a little better performance, but dont want to sacrifice driveability at all.
By the way, my car is a 94 Integra RS with 130,000 on the motor and original clutch.
One more question: I am plannng on getting a GSR tranny in the future, if i get a clutch for my RS, will it have to be replaced when i get the GSR tranny??? Thanks for your help.

Do you know how much a clutch master cylinder costs, and do you have instructions on how to bleed the system. Also, if i do buy a new clutch, will it come with a clutch master cylinder?? Sorry, i am pretty new at these things.
bro...check on the firewall under the dash where the clutch pedal connects to the master cylinder...is there goo and other fluid there? if so, you've blown the seals on your clutch master. easy fix! DIY. now...i would recommend getting your clutch replaced...130,000, god damn!! mine bit the bullet at 120,000, and the last 30,000 miles that were put on it were straight up abuse. If you need any kind of help if you decide to replace the clutch master, let me know!
I am going to check right now for the Goooo you are taking about. I just talked online with the mechanic that we always go to and he said its the clutch.
get all parts u need at http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net

Okay, I looked on the interior where the clutch pedal connects to like a hydraulic pump (or what it looks like to me), and there is fluid around and on that rod. I also looked under the hood at what i thought was the resevoir for the cluch fluid stuff, and there was absolutly no fluid in the resevoir. The resevoir is like a mini brake resevoir, directly above the right (drivers side) strut. Am i looking at the correct thing?

I looked at part #6 from under the dash, and saw some goo on that.
Looked in part #16 and there was absolutly no fluid in it.

fill that resevoir with brake fluid asap. and since you have fluid around the rod on the firewall your master cylinder is leaking and will need to be replaced now and or soon. you can milk it for awhile if you cant afford it but it will need to be replaced
Okay, since i just went through all of this this past weekend...
Any fluid on the grommet of the MC inside the car is BAD. I don't suggest paying acuraautomotiveparts.net $87.77 for the part; call Strano Auto Parts (stranoparts.com) and order the MC from them. I just got mine from them for around $50 and its OEM (Nissin). Next, check the slave cylinder too as they sometimes go in pairs. The slave cylinder is the thing on your picture that looks like a small bong (#9). It is located on the front of your tranny right in front of your a/c fan and it will have a rubber boot on it. If there is any fluid in that area, replace it as well. Your clutch is probably fine for the moment. Replace the cylinders as needed and fill and bleed the system.
As a temp fix until the part comes in (assuming its not leaking really bad) you could fill the resevoir with brake fluid and bleed it. You will have a clutch pedal again, but it will only last as long as there is fluid so take the bottle of brake fluid with you and check the resevoir frequently.
BTW, the MC is a relatively easy thing to replace; it took me about 35 minutes to do. The worst part is trying to work under the dashboard. The slave cylinder is also pretty easy; hard part is working from the top since there isn't much room between the a/c fan and the cylinder itself. It might be easier to do it from the bottom if you want to take the splash guard off.
Good luck.

Okay, So i just went to the store to buy the brake fluid and filled the resevoir up. I still do not have a clutch. The pedal is still loose as hell and gets stuck at the floor. Actually, now i have something new to tell you guys. I still can not put the car in gear when the engine is on. But when the engine is off, i put it in reverse and turned the car on. It stalled out. I turn on the engine again with the car in reverse but this time with my foot off of the brakes, and it takes off out of my garage. So basically the clutch pedal is doing nothing, the clutch is always engaged!
sohfast.com has 3rd gen Integra clutch master cylinders for $40 + S/H, but I beleive they are used. http://www.thepartsbin.com has them new for $70 + S/H. I hear the install is easy.
What's the deal with replacing the slave cylinder at the same time? I've heard people say that when you replace the master cylinder, it'll blow out the slave cyl. How does that happen!? I've also heard other people say that's BS. Anyone know for sure?

look at the clutch reservour, from there you can easily see it has a rubber hose leading down to the clutch master cylinder. The clutch master cylinder has a long metal pipe leading to the slave cylinder, which is on the transmission. It's on the passenger's side of the engine bay; just follow the pipe from the master cylinder. You'll notice a bleeder valve (possibly with a black rubber cover) on the pipe down by the slave cylinder.
sorry adampop, but i also have a question about that thing with the black rubber cover...while i was installing my dc headers, i couldn't get it on because that...slave cylinder? or that thing with the black cover was in the way...so i twisted it off and something starting leaking...i later checked the clutch resoviour and it was empty so i filled it up right away...well the question is...by i guess making the clutch fluid leak out, did i get any air into my clutch line and do you think i need to bleed it? thanks

If you bleed the system and there is still fluid in the resevoir, but still no clutch pedal...then you need a clutch.

Mike
Does anyone know the "proper" way to bleed it? Is it the same method as bleeding the brakes?
1 - Fill resevoir
2 - Open valve
3 - press clutch down
4 - close valve
5 - lift clutch up
repeat 2-5 (making sure the resevoir stays full) until bled fluid is clear and without bubbles.
Mike
I bled the system, and still no clutch pedal!!!! So basically i need a new clutch? Should i also replace the slave and master cylinder since i am seeing fluid on the master cylinder rod? Thanks for your help guys
my suggestion: replace clutch master and slave cylinders....take it to someone else to have them bleed it properly and then if that doesnt work THEN go buy a clutch cause you already know you DEFINITELY need a new clutch master cylinder since its leaking.
