ls-vtec is my moto good enuf...what else
ok ive been driving my car that i just built and i think im going lsvtec
it has 7000 miles on bottom end
arias forged pistons 9.8:1
shotpeened ls rods
knife edge crank and micropolished
arp rod bolts and head studs (but id hafta get rid of head studs
micropolished journals
and all new seals pumps etc
well i was gonna go just a b16 head with b16 dist (im obd-0) and b16ecu chipped with a mugen program
im just wondering would that be fine.
the only think im worrying about is i didnt put a vtec oil pump or vtec oil squirters in. do i need the so my motor is properlly lubricated or is the stock LS ones fine.
lmk what you think thanks alot
and what horsepower do u thinki will have with the b16 head with a set of ctr cams and the chiped ecu
i was thinking 180 maybe 185 (with my CAI, dc header, thermal exhaust)
thanks
mike

i didnt know that you can use stock rods on forged pistons...anyway, I have an lsvtec and I didnt use vtec oil pump, squirters etc...just used ls parts and ls timing belt. 192whp on ctr's but you need something better than a mugen chipped ecu...note that mugen program are set for their specs. It could make your car go a bit faster, but there's no substitute for a programmable ecu that you can tune according to your own specs. There are a few available, Hondata, Electromotive, Motec, Apexi etc...I'm using Hondata and have no problems with it.
allright thanks for the info
i had to get the rods machined alot and have alot of work done on them so the forged pistons would fit on em. but they do fit!
