aight guys im posting this for my friend. he has a B16 powered CRX and it wont seem to start. it seems to be getting power but the starter wont even click over. im thinking it might have something to do with the clutch or something...because its doing the same thing it would do if you try to start a car without pressing down the clutch. we know that the car runs because it can be push started and it cant be the starter because we tried 3 different ones. its getting power to the starter but i dont know why it wont crank up. if anyone has any suggestions please help out.

 

double check the grounds?? maybe check any starter signal lines.. My starter signal wire was lose where it clicks onto the engine..

 

put 12v right to the soleniod switch
it must turn over if the starter is good, just make sure the clutch is in!

 

solenoid switch???....i checked all the grounds too...all seemed fine

 

you have a good battery?

maybe ignition switch?

 

battery is brand new...and not to be dumb or anything but what do you mean by ignition switch???

 

two lines going to the starter
one is 12v constant from the battery
the other is the soleniod actuator, when you turn the key to start the car, the ecu provdies 12v to the other conection and that is what moves the acuator in and starts the car.
the ground is provided by the engine itself

 

sweet...i was wondering about the ground...so i just put a battery tester on the wire thats not live all the time and test to see if it turns on when i turn key??? and if not then its out???...see what i was thinking it has something to do with the clutch because it is acting like it would if you dont push the clutch in and try to start it. ill try to check out that later when its not so damn hot...I HATE TEXAS WEATHER...but anyways thanks for the help guys ...if you got any more theories please shoot because it might just be what you think.
