The most retarded question I've ever asked....Drag radials and wheelie bars?????
Ok, since we pretty much know that DOT tires will never give the results of slicks cause they dont have the compound and the soft sidewall of a slick.
But for ***** and giggles has anyone ever tried running them on a car that had a proper suspension setup along with wheelie bars?? I guess not too many guys have the option to try this, but I know there's a couple guys in here that can.
Sorry, I think my head is a little weary from diving earlier today

There is a shop locally here called carboy that had 2 race cars, the now infamous 2.2l civic and Sams widebody crx. Well not sure why but i could of sworn when the car first came out they had a set of street ets on. That was along time ago and i think they were just doing it for fun, he did have wheelies but his best was I believe low 11's.-pdang

Damn, thats surprising. Everyone knows that wheelie bars had a huge efect on drag cars running slicks, but obviously the times are really impressive when DOT tires are thrown into the mix.
Its ashame that FWD cars cant compete in the S/T class. A little more hp and some big meaty *** DOT tires and FWD cars could possibly have a chance..........or maybe not, those guys are in the 8's now.
Good info though. I would love to say that I have a low 11 sec FWD that runs on drag radials!!

Dan, i really dont see the point to having wheelie bars on a drag radial equipped civic. To be honest, i dont even see te big deal with everybody wanting to show fast times on drag radials period...!?..
this is the second thread today that confuses dot tires with radials. et streets is a bias ply DOT tire and pretty much hooks as well as a slick.

because usually there is a technicality involving the fact that 'FWD street cars' use slicks to do their runs instead of real street tires. So technically... with slicks the civic isnt a street car.

It doesn't matter what tire you run, wheelie bars will help your times. All the bars are doing is extending your wheelbase which helps prevent the front from lifting and prevent excess weight transfer.
The next best thing to wheelie bars is strapping a midget to your front bumper...
