somebody stop me
okay okay... i know that the R should be meant for NA apllications... but that Drag III kit is looking pretty nice to me right now... at least 260 hp... i can't get that going all-motor? quick!! someone remind me i have an R and that my original plans of JUN type 3 is the way to go!!!
High compression and turbo usually don't mix but I've seen turbo type R's that make impressive power with only 5-6lbs boost. That is the max I would advise to go. Unless you replace your bottom end with forged pistons and rods you can only boost that much. That is easily a 12 sec setup btw.
type-r's dont make any power if you just slap the turbo kit on them, i called rev hard and this is what they told me:
195whp w/ stock ecu 6psi
225whp w gsr obd1 ecu 6psi
i think its only worth doing if you build the bottom end and use the right computer and fuel management.

There's a local '01 R here with the Drag III turbo, and a fully built up engine running 14 lbs of boost!... He claims to be putting out around 300hp at the wheels, and I've seem him run high 12's so far with it!
Very impressive kit.

Those numbers are incorrect and say way low to me. There a couple guys running turbos on there itr's and making anywhere from 250-280 to the wheels.
Turbos are fun.
ITR + Drag kit + 7-8psi + Hondata = Almost 300whp and over 200lbft.
Thats just an initial tune. THere's plenty more HP to be found with more time
on the dyno. This setup ran a 12.4 @ 114 on sunday.

I am in northern va. This weekend I ran my 00 Type-R for the the first time. 12.4@114 with a shitty 2.0 60foot. I dyno'd at 8psi and came up with 291hp and 205 ft lbs of tq.
I will hopefully be running with slicks and revised fuel setup within 2 weeks and looking for some 11's

I planned on buying a 2nd ITR. But then the Turbo bug bit me, and I went searching for a clean dohc vtec del Sol. Thats what I now have with a drag3 kit @ 10 psi. (stock internals) and the car is very, very fast. Speed sensor and cooling system gremlins have kept me from the track lately, but I dont see why my del Sol won't hit high 12's on slicks. BTW, I have a full fuel system and 95 GSR ECU.

I too, must admit that the dark side is getting stronger by the minute. I don't know which kit would be good for the street? I'm thinking of going with the Rev-Hard or Greedy, but I don't know yet. Help me out too fellas!
There is a guy here in south Florida named Sherbaz his honda tech name is turbotyper or turboitr or somthing like that, anway, he had a built bottom end with sleeves and ran 13'lbs on the greddy kit and went low 12's at like 119.
I recommend DRAG or Greddy.

wow... okay... as far as what my goals are... a monster street killer, and possibly drag... daily driven... the most important factor is that it'll be daily driven... and considering that i'm only 18 with a decent job and school, and my R is my only car... it needs to be very reliable...
as for building the block... what should i do? how much? also... even if i do build up my bottom end... i'll still be running only 6-7 pounds of boost unless i race so...
yes.... i think i've finally been bitten from a turbo bug
p.s. could i be fast with a CR-Vtec setup? because that's been contemplating me too

reliable enough for daily driven? how bout i get an electronic boost controller and drive with like 4 pounds of boost when cruising at raise it when racing? would that make it any more reliable?
