94 Accord major oil leak
Hi all,
Hope someone can help me out here. 2 weeks' ago I took the car for oil change. Last Thursday the ignition switch went out, had it tolled to the shop. Took 3 days and they replaced it.
Took the car back yesterday. On the way home from work today, the oil light blinked. After I got home, I was very shock to see the entire bottom at the driver's side was covered with oil, some even got to the doors. Check the oil stick and there was no oil left. Checked the oil pan and bolts, everything looks fine. The oil seems to be leaking from the left side of the engine (may be the crankshaft?).
Any suggestions?
Thanks - Peekay

Nop! Do you know when it expires?
From the research I have done on the web, it sure sounds like a seal problem. Anyone knows how much it costs to fix at the dealer for a problem like this?

The balancer seal product update expired i january. It should cost roughly the same as having the t-belt replaced. (Which it will need because it is soaked with oil.)

This is correct. The recall has indeed expired. The problem that you mentioned in the original post is surely this. When it blows out it will indeed dump all kinds of oil out on the driver's side of the car. You will need the new seal and the retainer and both belts. No way around it.

make sure you change all belts the same time with all 3 seals...will save you monet in the long run, and you won't have to worry about that for maybe another 50,000 miles...:-)
